About the Owner
PGA Professional and CityGolf Owner Gary Parker has extensive experience in and knowledge of golf-training technologies and indoor golf management. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) School of Business in 1990 (BBS, Marketing), he worked as a Marketing Director for two years before entering the PGA’s Golf Professional Training Program. In 1996, Mr. Parker received his PGA Class “A” membership. During and after his apprenticeship, Gary offered golf instruction full-time for the Legends Club of Tennessee (Tom Kite’s signature golf course) and at the Stow (MA) Acres Golf School.
The membership concept for indoor golf was developed in 1998 at CityGolf Boston where patrons received buffet-style golf services – including unlimited lessons. In 2000, Mr. Parker led a team of investors to buy out CityGolf’s original venture capitalist and remains today as the company’s largest shareholder. He has overseen a 400% growth in revenues during his tenure as Manager of CityGolf. He has also led the fund-raising and expansion efforts directly leading to the current operation of three locations around Boston. During that time he has consulted on numerous projects and will continue to do so in the near future as CityGolf consulting licenses its name abroad.
